Hello

Hi, my name is Gulrukh Shafiq, I was born on the 17^th of August 1993, which makes me 17 and a Leo. Whenever someone talks about being a Leo, the first thing that comes in one’s mind is the fact that that certain person is either short tempered or has some good leadership qualities. Well I am one of those people who does have good leadership qualities but I think I control my temper (well most of the times). I have two brothers who are elder to me, one is 26 and the other is 23, which makes me the baby of the family. I do get some special treatment but that’s also because I am the only girl in the family; only daughter, only sister, only girl grandchild and only girl cousin.

Throughout my life I have grown up playing cricket, or wrestling, but I think I turned to be quite a nice girl. I love shopping (I think all girls do). But my passion is reading, playing sports and trying to help the society in any way I can. My favorite author is Paulo Coelho. He has written some very interesting book like “Veronica decides to die” and “Eleven Minutes.”

Since Grade 6 I have been the President of my class, even through high school besides last year in which I was the Student Council Vice President, and also the head of the Prom Committee. One could say that maybe my class fellows just make me the president because I am popular and not because I have leadership qualities but I have just been given the captaincy for the girl’s volleyball team from my coach which shows otherwise. I am a very friendly person, who gets along with everyone not only in my class but the whole high school.

I study at Lahore American School which is like a home for me. I have been in this school for 13 years and it is just hard to imagine what life will be after school even though I am really looking forward to college (Yeah Right). My school is my life. It has given me so much, friends, education, discipline but most importantly it has given me a family, my class. I truly believe in unity. And LAS gave me a close knit family, which is something that I will have for the rest of my life and that is all thanks to LAS.

I have always had a passion for English, especially Literature and I love to read books. If anyone reads this they would probably think that I am a nerd and that I only like to study and read but something surprising about me is that besides getting good grades, I manage to get time to take part in all sorts of sports, basketball, volleyball, and soccer.

Going to an amazing college is a dream for me, and not just an amazing college but going to one of the best colleges in the world, named Cambridge, Oxford, Upenn, Harvard etc. I want to do a major in business and not only stop there but also work after that. But before doing all that I want to study and enjoy my life as that is the only way to achieve this. I hope you got to know me well.
